Hydraulic nuts

The hydraulic nut is a mounting and dismounting tool for bearings with a tapered bore, on a tapered shaft seat or on an adapter or withdrawal sleeve. It has an annular piston that is actuated with oil pressure, so the axial thrust is even and controlled and blows and localized heating that damage raceways and rings are avoided.

The three brands in this subcategory use the HMV designation: HMV10E, HMV11E and HMV12E (BGL), HMV-10, HMV-12 and HMV-13 (Timken), HMV 10E, HMV 11E and HMV 106E (SKF). The number is a size code linked to the thread, not the shaft diameter, and the letter E identifies the design. There are special variants, such as HMV 10/233983, which are ordered with the complete part number.

To choose, define the thread of the shaft or sleeve (diameter and pitch), the bearing you are going to mount, the free space for the piston and the connection of the oil pump. They are used in rolling mills, mills, presses, large gearboxes, turbines and mining and cement equipment, where the fit is critical and access is difficult.
