The adapter sleeve is a tapered element that makes it possible to mount a bearing with a tapered bore — such as series 22 spherical roller bearings or Y-type needle roller bearings — on a plain shaft, without the shaft needing a machined shoulder or a keyway.

The SKF H series is identified by the size number, which corresponds to the size of the bearing and the shaft it is mounted on. It is tightened with a KM series lock nut and an MB series lock washer, which must be ordered together with the sleeve if you do not have them.
