The Gates XPA series V-belt is a power transmission element for grooved pulleys. Its narrow profile with straight flanks transmits more force than a classic belt of the same width, with less weight and better performance on small-diameter pulleys. Check pulley alignment and tension: a belt that is too loose slips and heats up; too tight punishes the bearings. Also check that there is no oil or chips in the grooves.

V-belts are identified by profile and length, and different brands use equivalent nomenclatures.
