The DBH 8006Vit radial shaft seal is a lip seal that closes off the passage of lubricant and blocks the entry of dust, water or particles at the point where a shaft rotates inside a housing. It is press-fitted into the housing and runs on the shaft surface, with the right height to seat in the cavity. It is a wear part: when the lip hardens or marks the shaft, it should be replaced before the loss of oil damages the bearing.

This DBH 8006Vit radial shaft seal has 35 mm shaft diameter, 50 mm housing diameter and 10 mm height. The Mx-R H design corresponds to a lip seal with a metal case and sealing lip, intended to retain lubricant in one direction and exclude contaminants from the exposed side. The three dimensions define the seat: the inner diameter fits the shaft, the outer diameter fits the housing and the height must match the depth of the cavity where it seats.

Typical applications are gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, transmission shafts, rollers and process equipment where a shaft rotates with lubricant to be retained. It also appears in agricultural machinery, conveyors and plant equipment where the environment has dust or moisture. In all these cases it performs the same function: separating the lubricated interior from the contaminated exterior and extending the life of the bearing or bushing behind it.

To select and install it, verify that the shaft has no burrs, wear or grooves in the contact area, and that the housing is clean and free of deformation. Lubricate the lip before inserting it and place the seal perpendicular, with a tube or spacer that rests on the outer face, never on the lip. If the shaft shows a marked wear track, consider a nearby size or a seal with the lip in another position so that it seals on a healthy surface.
