The DBH 5816Sil radial shaft seal is a lip seal that mounts on a 10 mm shaft and fits into a 22 mm bore, with an 8 mm height. Its function is to retain lubricant inside the assembly and block the entry of dust, water or particles, protecting bearings, bushings and gears in rotating equipment. It is a wear part: when the lip hardens or becomes marked, it starts to lose oil and should be replaced before the bearing fails.
