The DBH 5291 radial shaft seal is a lip seal that closes off the passage of oil or grease between a rotating shaft and its housing, while at the same time preventing the entry of dust, water or particles. It is press-fitted into the housing and runs on the shaft with a flexible lip. It is a wear part: when lubricant loss appears or the shaft shows marks, it should be replaced before the damage reaches the bearings.
