A cylindrical roller thrust bearing works with the load along the shaft axis, not radially. It is selected by the shaft and housing bore diameters, by the single direction of the load, and by the rigidity the assembly requires: because the rolling elements are rollers and not balls, the contact is line contact and the component tolerates high axial loads with little deformation. If the load changes direction or has a radial component, a different arrangement is recommended.
The catalog contains 85 SKF references. The series you will find are 811, GS, WS, and K. 811 identifies the complete thrust bearing, with its two washers and the roller assembly. WS is the shaft washer (the one that rests against the shaft shoulder) and GS is the housing washer; they are ordered separately when the assembly already has one of the two surfaces ground, serving as a raceway. K designates the roller and cage assembly, without washers, for when the raceways are provided by the machine parts. The suffix TN indicates a polyamide cage.
Typical applications are spindles and vertical shafts, rotary tables, press columns, gearboxes, and equipment where the axial thrust is constant and in one direction only. They also appear in vertical pumps and in lifting mechanisms. In these cases, the bearing is mounted with the washers resting on surfaces parallel and perpendicular to the shaft, because any misalignment is poorly absorbed: this type is not self-aligning.
To request a quote, you need the complete part number, for example 81110 TN, GS 81109, WS 81102 or K 81107 TN, and the shaft and housing dimensions if you do not have it on hand. If you are replacing an old bearing, the equivalent part number stamped on it or the assembly drawing works. With that data, we give you the corresponding SKF reference and the alternative of separate washers if the mounting allows it.
You can contact us by WhatsApp or email indicating the part number and quantity. If the bearing is part of an assembly with combined load, also tell us the radial component and the direction of rotation so we can guide you on the most suitable arrangement.
Dimensions and tolerances: Send us the part number via WhatsApp and we'll confirm dimensions, sealing, and internal clearance against the manufacturer's data sheet.
