Description
SKF 216 is a deep groove ball bearing reference, within Bearings. Request a quote for 216 via WhatsApp or email with the quantity you need; we respond promptly with lead time and equivalents.
The deep groove ball bearing is the most widely used bearing in industry: it takes radial load and some axial load in both directions, runs at high speed and its simple design makes it the most economical of the ball bearings. In Argentina it is also known by other names depending on the region, but it is always the same part.
The designation starts with the series number —60, 62 or 63 depending on width and load capacity— followed by the coded bore diameter, and ends with suffixes that describe the sealing and the internal clearance: 2RS or 2RSH indicates two rubber seals in contact, ZZ or 2Z indicates two non-contact metal shields, and the absence of a suffix indicates an open bearing, with no protection of its own. The C3 suffix (or another clearance number) indicates an internal clearance larger than normal, used when the shaft will run hot.
It is fitted in electric motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, conveyor belts and in general any shaft that turns at medium or high speed with moderate load. It is the fastest-moving bearing in an Argentine industrial warehouse, precisely because it covers most of the standard motors and gear reducers on the market.
The choice comes down to the shaft diameter, the load it will carry and the environment: a motor exposed to dust or moisture calls for 2RS sealing; a shaft running at high speed with little contamination can use ZZ shields, which generate less friction. Speed and working temperature also define the factory grease, which in sealed bearings cannot be re-lubricated.
It is one of the most standardized designs there is: the same bore, outside diameter and width are made with equivalent numeric series by SKF, NSK, FAG, NTN, Timken and the rest of the brands on the market. If your equipment carries another brand's designation, send us the part number: most of the time there is an equivalent listed.
If you have the number from the bearing cap or the shaft diameter, write to us on WhatsApp with the part number and we will confirm the available sealing and the equivalent. MR Accesorios Industriales has the complete SKF deep groove ball bearing series listed, from the 6000 series up to the largest diameters.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between 2RS and ZZ?
- 2RS are two rubber seals in contact with the inner ring, which seal better against dust and moisture. ZZ are two non-contact metal shields, which generate less friction but seal less. The choice depends on the working environment.
- What does the C3 suffix mean?
- It indicates an internal clearance larger than standard. It is used when the shaft and the bearing will heat up in operation, because expansion reduces the actual clearance during work.
- Can I replace a bearing from another brand with an SKF one?
- Yes: the 62 series is standardized by size across manufacturers. Confirm the bore, outside diameter and width, and the sealing you need, and we will tell you what we have listed.
