TIMKEN locknuts

A TIMKEN locknut is identified by its threaded connection and the parts it retains. In a bearing position, this includes shaft or sleeve, contact faces and the device preserving adjustment. The nut is an individual component, distinct from a locking washer and from a hydraulic nut used in prescribed mounting operations.

Preserving KM, N and HM spelling

KM0, N 07 and HM30/500 use different structures: connected letters and number, a space with an initial zero, and a slash respectively. Preserve each form rather than standardizing their spelling. Numbers belong to their designation group and do not independently document thread pitch. Compare diameter, pitch, thickness and supporting faces. A similar code proves neither identical threads nor a shared locking device.

Thread, abutment and locking

At a transmission shaft end, the nut may act beside an inner ring or sleeve assembly. Identify face contact, adjustment access and the part preventing rotation after installation. Photograph the shaft thread and spacer sequence. Partial engagement of a used nut cannot validate a replacement: geometry must match the design and actual surface condition.

Nut and associated part details

Send MR Accesorios Industriales full code, quantity, verified thread data and retained-component reference. Add both-face photographs and the associated locking part. List nut and washer separately when both are required. With unreadable markings, a dimensioned sketch is more useful than visual comparison with another series. State whether this is an existing mounting or a modification requiring comparison with new documented geometry.

Is the washer part of the nut?

They are distinct components requiring separate identification.

Is thread diameter enough?

Also check pitch, geometry and locking arrangement.

Can a hydraulic nut replace it?

Do not assume so; function and arrangement differ.
