SKF polyurethane belts: T and AT profiles

In PHG T5-165-10, T5 is the profile, with a 5 millimetre pitch; 165 is the length and 10 the width, both in millimetres. PHG AT5-300-16 uses the AT5 profile, which shares the pitch with T5 and has a different, wider tooth. They do not mesh with the same pulley.

When the code carries DB before the profile, as in PHG DB-T5-500-10, the belt has teeth on both faces. And when the last block starts with S, as in PHG T5-150-S150, it does not give the width of a finished belt but another form of supply. In both cases, the reference is copied in full.

Because of its low elongation, a polyurethane belt holds position over long travels: it is common on linear axes, tables, gantries and conveyors with stops or carriers. That same stiffness makes it demanding on pulley alignment and tension: a slack belt jumps teeth and an over-tight one overloads the bearings.

The minimum pulley diameter is another limit. Steel cords do not accept tight bends, and a pulley or tensioner roller smaller than specified fatigues them. If the removed belt shows cut cords or a cracked back, check the diameters and the belt path before ordering the same reference.
