SKF spherical roller bearings: series 222 to 241

The examples 22220 E, 21311 E and 22310 E show different series: 222, 213 and 223. The remaining numeric portion contributes to the size identification. The final letter is also part of the code and should remain in the transcription; requesting a bearing from the 222 series without the rest of the reference is insufficient.

In the MR catalogue, most SKF spherical roller bearings belong to the 222 and 223 series. They are followed by the 230, 231, 232, 240, 241, 239 and 213 series, with references such as 23140 CC/C3W33.

In 22228 CC/C3W33, letters and a slash follow the number. Copy the complete sequence in its original order. A reference with a different series or final block requires comparison of the arrangement, even when both are listed as spherical roller bearings. If the marking is worn, photograph several parts of the ring to recover the sequence before proposing a replacement.

The MR SKF guide places these bearings in mills and crushers, dryer rollers in paper production and sugar mill equipment. Those applications help identify the role of the bearing position, but do not select a particular reference. Different positions within one installation can have different requirements and mounting components.

For a dryer roller, specify which end is being examined. For a mill, include a view of the housing and shaft section. If the assembly includes a sleeve, record its designation separately: the bearing name does not describe every component involved in fastening it to the shaft.

Send the bearing marking, quantity, bore diameter, outside diameter and width. Add photographs of the part and housing, plus the application and bearing position. If the request also includes a sleeve, nut or sealing elements, list them separately with their own codes. State whether you are replacing the same execution or reviewing the mounting arrangement; those are different starting points for assessing the documentation.
