This line holds the SKF bearings whose designation does not follow the basic system of series and sizes. They start with prefixes such as BS2, BAA, BT1 or BC1, or are a long number. Most were made for a specific application or piece of equipment: a wheel, a gearbox, a roller. That is why they are not chosen by size in a general catalog, but by the exact code on the part.

In a standard bearing, the digits give the series and the bore. In BAA 0003, BT1-0163 or BC1-0125 they do not: the prefix points to the type of bearing and the number is sequential. No dimensions can be derived from those references, and two neighbouring numbers may be unrelated parts.
There are partial exceptions. BS2-2205-2RS/VT143 shows a known base inside the code, that of a spherical roller bearing, with blocks that describe a sealed version. Even so, it is not interchangeable with the standard bearing of that base without comparing the width, which usually differs. The rule is the same: copy everything, with hyphens, slashes and spaces.
Since the code does not describe the part, context matters more than in other lines. The make and model of the machine, the position of the bearing and the part number of the equipment maker allow the reference to be confirmed when the marking is worn.
If the original part can no longer be obtained, the replacement is sought by dimensions and function: type of bearing, bore, outside diameter, width, sealing and any particular detail, such as a flange, a groove or a thicker outer ring. That work needs the part in hand or a drawing; a photo alone is rarely enough.
Send us the code exactly as engraved and the quantity. Add the make and model of the equipment and where the bearing is mounted. If the marking cannot be read in full, give us the main dimensions and photos of both faces and the edge. Let us know whether you need exactly the same reference or would accept an alternative by dimensions.
