SKF cylindrical roller thrust bearings

81102 TN and 81136 M are complete bearings: the digits give the series and the size, and the final letters distinguish the execution. When the designation starts with K, as in K 81104 TN, it is only the roller and cage assembly, without washers.

The washers have their own prefix. WS 81102 is the shaft washer and GS 81102 the housing washer, both for the same size. They look alike and are not: one fits on the shaft and has clearance in the housing, and the other the reverse. Swapping them makes the washer that should stay still rub against the shaft or the housing.

If the surfaces of the machine are hardened and ground, the roller assembly can run directly on them and the arrangement takes up even less space. That is why it is sold on its own. Before ordering the assembly alone, confirm that the equipment is designed that way: on a soft surface the rollers leave marks within hours.

These bearings accept no misalignment. The support surfaces must be parallel and square to the shaft; otherwise the rollers load at one end and the wear appears as an off-centre ring. They also need a minimum axial load so the rollers roll rather than skid, something to keep in mind on shafts that turn fast with no thrust.

Send us the complete designation and tell us whether it is the whole bearing or a component. Without a code, measure the bore, the outside diameter and the total height, and tell us which parts the removed set had. State the direction of the load, whether there is radial load at the same point and how it is lubricated. A photo of the washers helps tell the shaft washer from the housing washer.
