Couplings Ruadigon: bands, hubs and assemblies

The Ruadigon coupling line includes both complete X series assemblies and replacement components. The elastic band and hubs perform different roles: the band connects the hubs, which mount on the shafts. Consequently, two records with the same X size can describe different orders. Start by identifying the part that needs replacement before comparing the variants in the product list.

Read the description following the size

X-1 · Banda elástica identifies a replacement band. X-1 · Acople con mazas normales is another presentation of that size, with a name describing the coupling and its hub arrangement. The wording after the separator is part of the catalogue designation; retain it when copying the reference.

X-2 · Acople con mazas llenas and X-2 · Maza normal con tornillos show a further distinction: an assembly configuration versus an individual hub. The Spanish term maza llena does not mean an unbored part. Compare its geometry and dimensions with the shaft on which it will be mounted instead of inferring its machining from the name.

Shaft connections in plant drives

The Ruadigon guide places these couplings in pump, fan and conveyor drives. Describe which machine supplies the motion and which receives it. A view of both hubs helps establish whether the repair concerns only the flexible element or also the parts attached to the shafts.

When a damaged band is removed, preserve its reference and record the installation arrangement. Photographs of the band seating and bolts help relate the replacement to the assembly. Elasticity does not remove the need to check machine alignment, nor does it make similar sizes interchangeable.

Define the scope of the quote

Send the X size, full catalogue designation, quantity and front and side photographs. Add both shaft diameters, keyway dimensions and the distance between hubs. State whether you need a band, a hub or a coupling, and identify the components retained from the existing installation. For a mixed arrangement, identify each side separately. A machine drawing or exploded view locates the requested part without confusing it with the opposite end.

Is ordering a band the same as ordering the coupling?

They are different articles. The band record identifies the flexible element, rather than every part of the assembly.

Does maza llena mean unbored?

No. Check the bore and keyway of the particular model; the designation describes a hub geometry.

Why retain the description after X?

It distinguishes the band, hub and coupling arrangement even when the size number is identical.
