Spherical roller thrust bearings support high axial loads in one direction and accommodate a combined radial load, with self-aligning capability. The rollers are asymmetrical and run on a spherical raceway, so they compensate for misalignment between shaft and housing. They are used in heavy machinery, lifting equipment, cranes, presses, mills, high-power gearboxes, and in the steel and cement industries.
The most common series are 292, 293 and 294, which differ in the ratio of outside diameter to height. The number is read with the size code: the last two digits, multiplied by 5, give the bore in millimeters. In FAG 29230-E1-MB, size 30 corresponds to 150 mm; in SKF 29416 E/L5DA, 16 corresponds to 80 mm. For large sizes, the bore comes after the slash, as in 292/1000-E1-MB, with 1000 mm. The suffixes E and E1 identify a reinforced design, and MB, a solid brass cage.
To select one, determine the axial load, speed and temperature, and check the lubrication type, almost always oil. Since they support load in only one direction, when the load can reverse they are combined with another bearing that takes the opposite direction. The minimum load must also be respected so the rollers do not skid.
The brands we work with in this subcategory are FAG, NTN, NSK and SKF. To request a quote, send us the complete part number, for example NTN 29317 or NSK 29292, or the bore, outside diameter and height. If you have an equivalent from another brand, we will cross-reference it. Request a quote by part number at MR via WhatsApp or email and we will respond promptly.
Dimensions and tolerances: Send us the part number via WhatsApp and we'll confirm the dimensions and version against the manufacturer's data sheet.
