Linear motion units

Linear motion components enable precise straight-line displacements with low friction: guides with ball recirculation carriages, linear units, and linear bearings that work on cylindrical shafts. They are used in machine tools, automation, manipulators, measuring equipment, and positioning systems, where the combination of guide and carriage defines rigidity and precision.

The codes follow each brand's logic. In NSK, NH25AL, NH30BL, or NH35AL correspond to the NH series of linear guides, and the number is the size. In NTN, LGBCS15 FN and LGBCS20 FS combine the series, a size, and a variant letter. In SKF, LBC4-0092 or LBC4-0103 are identified by the complete series code. Changing a final letter can mean another execution, so the code is quoted in full.

To choose, consider the load and its direction, rigidity, precision and repeatability, speed, stroke length, preload, and the environment, because dust, chips, and cutting fluids require adequate sealing and lubrication. It is advisable to first define the rail or shaft size and then the number of carriages per guide.
