Bearing Housings

A bearing housing is the part that houses and secures the bearing on the shaft or on the machine structure. It determines concentricity, assembly rigidity, and ease of mounting and dismounting. To choose it, you need to start from the bearing it will house, the type of shaft mounting it accepts (cylindrical or tapered bore), and the way the housing is anchored: solid base, flange, or split construction. The choice between one and the other depends on access to the mounting point, the type of bearing, and the direction of the loads.
