Withdrawal sleeve

The withdrawal sleeve is the tool used to extract a tapered-bore bearing without striking it or marking the shaft. It is placed on the shaft and screwed onto the sleeve's own thread; with a hydraulic nut or impact nut, it generates the axial thrust that releases the bearing. To choose it, start from the mounted bearing: bearing number, tapered bore diameter, and sleeve thread type. If the bearing has already been removed, the sleeve part number or its equivalent is enough.

In the catalog you will find 117 SKF references. The AHX and AOHX series correspond to sleeves with fine metric thread; the X indicates that the sleeve is mounted directly on the shaft without an additional nut, and the final G identifies the thread for the hydraulic or impact nut. The AH and AOH series are the versions with standard metric thread, and SK designates the sleeves used with impact nuts instead of hydraulic nuts. The examples AHX 2330 G, AOH 3268 G, AH 24040, AOHX 3092 G and SK 44 show this variety of constructions.

Typical applications are the removal of bearings in power transmission equipment, gear reducers, pumps, fans, and process machinery. They are also used in scheduled maintenance, when a bearing must be replaced without disassembling the entire assembly or damaging the tapered seat of the shaft. In those cases, the sleeve is combined with the appropriate hydraulic nut or impact nut, which are also part of the bushings and sleeves family.
