The adapter sleeve is a tapered element that allows mounting a bearing with a tapered bore —such as spherical roller bearings of series 22 or Y-type needle roller bearings— on a plain shaft, without the need for a machined shoulder or keyway on the shaft. It is selected according to the shaft diameter, the bearing tapered bore, and the type of fixing required. The SNP series includes sleeves with lock nut and lock washer for mounting in split plummer block housings.
