Incorrect mounting is one of the main causes of premature failure. In the case of Y-housings with insert bearing, it is essential to secure the bearing to the shaft with set screws or the eccentric locking system, depending on the model.

The housing base must sit on a flat, rigid surface. It is recommended to align the housings on the same shaft to avoid additional loads. If two housings are used, one can be fixed and the other floating to allow thermal expansion.

Spherical roller bearings require careful adjustment: the cone and cup must be mounted separately and then adjusted to obtain the correct internal clearance. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and use appropriate tools.

Over-tightening during mounting is also harmful. Tightening the locking screws too much can deform the inner ring and generate vibration. Similarly, a poorly leveled base causes uneven loads.

Finally, not respecting lubrication intervals or using an inadequate lubricant shortens service life. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations and record maintenance interventions.
