Preventive maintenance includes correct lubrication, vibration and temperature monitoring, and seal inspection. The grease or oil must be compatible with the bearing and the application. Excess grease is also harmful: it generates heat and increases friction.

Monitoring condition with vibration analysis allows detecting incipient failures, such as flaking or wear. A temperature increase may indicate insufficient lubrication or excessive load. Recording this data helps plan interventions.
